tests
One of the most requested portfolio formats: brands and casting directors ask for it, and agencies use it for the profile card in their database.
Book a slot →Clean, current, working material
At least two backgrounds, a natural manner, and the child at the centre of every frame. Tests show the model as they are today, not a year ago.
Who looks at your tests
Not a creative story and not a fashion campaign. Tests are working material, and the industry makes decisions from them.

Assess the potential
Tests are the foundation of a portfolio.
Tests don't show a look. Tests read the model: texture, character and work in frame
The model works naturally. Natural poses, restrained expressions, a clean emotion. That is what the industry reads.
Update the tests every time the look changes: a new haircut, a new length, a new stage of growing up.
Three ways we light a test
At least two backgrounds per session and different light set-ups, so the portfolio covers different moods without losing the clean format.
one session, three stripsContact sheet
This is what a session gives you: different backgrounds and light, and the best frames picked by the photographer.

Help with the looks
Alena tells you what will work for your child and sends links to specific items you can buy and return after the shoot. You put the looks together a week before, and send us photos to check.
Add mentoring
Already shooting? Add mentoring: we gather the inputs in an interview or a brief, review the fresh tests and put together a strategy and a six-month plan. About mentoring →
When you get the photos
before you bookOur rules
Model tests are teamwork between the child, the parent and our crew. These three rules are how we keep every session calm and every result worth showing to a casting director.
The final say is ours
Anyone can leave a request. A slot is confirmed only after we get in touch with the parent and talk things through.
Tests ask real work from a child: listening to the photographer, staying in contact and working with the camera. We shoot until we have the result, not by the clock, and that only works when the child is ready for it. If we feel it is too early, we will tell you honestly and suggest coming back in a few months. The decision on every booking stays with us.
We shoot the child, not a lookbook
Clothes should show the child's strengths and stay out of the way. Brightness and prints are added only when our creative director asks for them: sometimes the brief changes.
- Basics that fit well
- Plain colours, clean lines
- New or like-new items
- Comfortable shoes
- The items from Alena's links
- Skirts and dresses: they limit movement and angles
- Loud prints and big logos
- "Festive" looks and extra brightness
- Worn or faded clothes
Looks ready a week before
A look put together the evening before rarely works, and then we end up bringing suitcases of our own clothes to set. Plan the shopping early, so there is time to order, try on and swap sizes.
The night beforeit’s too late to fix a look.
