How the Asia desk works

A separate track of LÁ TALENT LAB that Alena Yukaeva runs personally, from the first test to the last shooting day. Asia books differently: longer stays, tight shooting days, a parent on set every day. Each trip is prepared by hand together with our partner agencies in China, Korea and Japan, so that a well-prepared child can land contract after contract.

Three rules for Asia

Read them before you apply. They protect the child and keep the door to Asian agencies open.

01

Height from 120 to 150 cm

Asian clients book children from 90 cm, but we deliberately don't take little ones: long shooting days in another country are too hard for them, and they can't yet work on camera consciously. So we start at 120 cm. The upper limit is 150 cm: above that there is noticeably less work in Asia. Ideally, arrive at 120 cm already prepared, and several strong seasons lie ahead.

How to prepare: LÁ TALENT LAB school →
02

No existing contracts

The child must not be signed with any other agency and must not be bound by contracts with agents or agencies in Asia. This is a firm condition.

03

Don't contact Asian agents directly

An agent who receives your application ties the child to themselves: even if they don't take you on, other agencies will no longer consider you. Many families have been burned by this. Don't send applications to everyone: through us, one application goes to the one agency the child fits.

Not just a booker

Alena shoots in Asia herself

Alena doesn't only send kids to Asia. She flies with her own models to China and Japan and shoots them there herself: portfolios, street series and campaigns for Asian brands. Every child in these photos is one she sent on contract.

That's why her selection works: she prepares kids for a set she has stood on as a photographer.

From our school to contracts in Asia

These kids trained at LÁ TALENT LAB, did their tests and Frame Lab shoots with us, and Alena took them to contracts in China and Korea. School, shoots, agency, contract: one path, one team.

Questions about Asia

What height and age do you take?+

We go by height: from 120 to 150 cm. We don't take little ones: long shooting days abroad are too hard for them.

We're already with another agency. Can we apply?+

No. For Asia the child must not be signed with any agency or bound by contracts with agents or agencies in Asia.

Can we write to Asian agencies ourselves?+

We strongly advise against it. An agent who gets your application ties the child to themselves, and other agencies won't consider you after that. Send one application through us.

Does a parent travel with the child?+

Yes. A parent is on set with the child every day.

Who handles the contract and the trip?+

Terms, documents and travel are agreed with the parents before anyone books a ticket. During the job we stay in touch with the family and the partner agency until the last shooting day.

How do we prepare?+

Ideally, arrive at 120 cm already prepared. At the LÁ TALENT LAB school kids learn posing and movement on camera, working with emotions and with the photographer and crew on set.

Fill in the application for Asia. We review every one and get in touch if the child fits our partners' briefs. One application, one agency: we send it only where the child fits.
